Classroom Creations

I have been making some new things for the room.

This is a new sign for our reading area made from a piece of wood, sticks and paint.
This rocking chair used to be bright blue! Now it is beige with rope wrapped around the back.
These our mine and my co-teacher's initials to hang on the wall by the front door.
Yikes! I had already taken two loads of things in before school got out. This is all the stuff I have collected over the summer. I will be glad to take it all in to the building.
These are frames from the dollar tree. I used white wallpaper to make the background and put a subject label inside. With the glass on the front it makes them easy to wipe off. We will write our daily "I can" statements on them.

Coming Soon...

My name is Nikki and I'm a kindergarten teacher at Louise Troy Elementary. I teach in a co-teaching classroom.  Myself and the other teacher merge our groups of students together into what we call our classroom community. We typically have 40+ students which sounds crazy! But it works for us. We have a unique room design as well which you'll see later when I start to post pictures. We have been doing inquiry with our students the past few years for part of the day but this year we are jumping all the way using a mix of the ACCESS curriculum, inquiry and Reggio. We have been learning this summer and we have started to plan. We will be setting up our room in the next few weeks so pictures will be COMING SOON...
